  • 8:00-8:45 Buddy Orientation
  • 9:00-9:45 Registration-- All participants must check in at this time.
  • 9:45-10:15 Introduction/Overview of Day 
  • 10:15- 3:15 
    • Interview 
    • Talent rehearsal (optional) 
    • Introduction rehearsal 
    • Evening wear rehearsal 
    • Lunch 
      • Current queens arrive 1:30-2:00 pm.
        • 2:00-2:30 Rising Star Registration (See below for a more detailed schedule)
  • 3:15- 4:00 Finish any rehearsals...
  • 4:00-5:20 Dinner, Dress and last minute preparations
  • 5:20 Girls line up backstage 
  • 5:45 Doors Open for Guests 
  • 6:00-10:00 SHOW TIME! 

 

Rising Star Participants: Girls age 5-9

  • 2:00-2:30 Registration
  • 2:30-3:15 Talent Rehearsal then hair and makeup
  • 3:15-4:00 Opening number rehearsal
  • 4:00-4:30 Evening wear rehearsal
  • 4:30-5:20 Dinner, Dress and last minute preparations
  • 5:20 Girls line up backstage
  • 5:45 Doors open for guests
  • 6:00-9:00 SHOW TIME!!

Hotel Accommodations: 

Mention that you are with Miss Amazing when booking hotel accommodations. 

AmericInn: (712-322-8400): 2 Queen beds $67.00/night 

Fairfield Inn: (712-366-1330): 1 King bed- $139.00/night. 2 Queen beds- $149.00/night

IOwa MISS AMAZING PAGEANT Overview

Pageant activities include

  • Rehearsals for personal introduction, evening wear, opening number, and optional talent
  • Buddy introductions and bonding 
  • Private interview 
  • Hair and makeup
  • Dinner 
  • Final Pageant 

Cost: No charge! Please bring canned food items to donate. These items are then donated to a local food pantry.  

Wardrobe:

  • Interview: Miss Amazing t-shirt (provided at the event), jeans, comfy shoes
  • Personal Introduction: Miss Amazing t-shirt, jeans, comfy shoes
  • Talent Showcase (Optional): Talent related outfit or whatever participant desire to wear
  • Evening wear: Anything that makes participants' feel glamorous, such as a short or long dress! 

Super Star Fundraiser Award: 

  • We offer an award to the participant who raises the most money prior to the pageant!
  • Fundraising is such an important aspect to keep the Iowa Miss Amazing Pageant going, and we appreciate the support from all family and friends! 
  • Fundraising is optional, and every dollar raised will go to future Iowa Miss Amazing Pageants!

Interview/Personal Introduction:

  • Interviews will be a minute long with five different judges. We want interview to be a fun and relaxing experience to help the girls gain confidence and social skills. 
  • There will not be any trick questions or surprises. If the participant is non-verbal, they can have a representative with them present in the interview room. Question difficulty will depend on age.
  • Examples of questions that may be asked:
    • "What is your favorite animal and why?"
    • "What do you like to do for fun?"
    • "What is your biggest goal in life?"

Talent:

  • Talent is now incorporated into the final show. Talent is still optional and will not factor into the participants' score. 
  • At the end of the show, girls who participated in talent will receive an additional medal for their efforts! 
  • Talent must be no longer than 1 minute and 30 seconds!
